How to stop Overthinking? Firstly, We all have been taught to walk, to speak, take bath, brush, etc. But have any of us been taught to live?
Above all, The art of Living is also something that we need to learn. But neither did our parents know and neither did they learn.
In other words, nobody is aware that such a thing exists and it needs to be taught. And the consequence is, we see a lot of people stuck with overthinking, depression, anxiety problems, etc.
So, why is it important to stop overthinking?
Overthinking is a disease in itself. In the same vein, it is like digging our own grave.
Then why do we overthink?
Answer to this is already mentioned in the first paragraph. It’s like we are unaware of how to live.
Further, we all crave for happiness and we do things to get that happiness. But do we really get that happiness from the things we do?
Then we tend to do something else, again with the same purpose of satisfying the ego, so as to submerge in that momentary happiness.
Likewise, thinking is also that ‘doing’, which helps us to get that small dosage of momentary happiness.
In other words, We create a series of fantasy thoughts for that temporary happiness and then repeat the process because the happiness was short lived.
And this all sums up to what is being called overthinking.
Again, this habit stops us from living in the moment, which in-turn makes us inactive and powerless to initiate in our actions.
Therefore, it is very important that we stop overthinking.
So, back to the main question;
How to stop overthinking?
If we summarize the above information, one thing is very clear that we overthink because of the happiness we receive from thinking. And that happiness is short lived or can be called temporary.
So, the solution is to find a way to receive permanent happiness. A happiness, that once received is always there, come what may.
Further, it should be so permanent that even the smallest of the smallest act of doing comes out of that happiness.
This way we can stop overthinking.
Now, the question is;
Is there a possibility to achieve such kind of happiness?
We have witnessed many such personalities who have been living examples of such happiness. Like Kabir of the East, and many more like him who lived a normal family life yet was an evolved soul. Some of them are even referred as God.
In short, if we find permanent happiness then overthinking will never be a problem. You will naturally stop overthinking.
The root cause solution to this problem is not to stop overthinking, but to find the real happiness which is permanent.
