Let us briefly understand the 10 ways on how to treat depression. 

1. Start a new routine:

Don’t make any drastic changes to your routine. Instead, take step by step process of changing routine. For instance, it can like being early to bed and early to rise. If you have the habit of sleeping at 2 am then reduce the time by 1 or 1/2 an hour in the beginning. Like wise, slowly achieve your target. And most of all, enjoy this journey.

2. Change your eating habits:

Start Eating more of organic food which gives you a happy vibration. As in, there are lot of fruits which has that happy simulator in it. Like for example; A green banana. And most important of all, you need to stop eating too heavy foods which is difficult to digest and bring lethargic feeling which can be a negative booster in treating the depressed.

3. Exercise:

Exercise, in this context is not about heavy gym work outs. But, it’s about motion exercises like a walk, running, basic stretching, etc. Which will instantly boost your mood and give you a feeling of accomplishment which will in fact boost your happiness temporarily.

4. Yoga:

Pranayama anuloma-viloma is a yoga kriya(kriya means exercise) which has to be a part of your daily life. These directly instigates the good feeling nerve and make you feel lighter. 5. Meditation:

The word Meditation has been misunderstood by a lot of common people because of the heavy load of information it brings along with it. It seems as if only the knowledgeable or the realized soul can do a proper meditation. As said, the fact is otherwise. Meditation means observation. In other words, it is just to release all the knowledge you have and observe how your body moves, and do it’s daily chores. And this practice, we can start by closing our eyes, siting in an up straight position and just observing how we breathe. This has to be done without any resistance or controlling the breathe, just observe how our body inhales and then exhales.

6. Practicing Gratitude:

This has been followed vigorously by our great great ancestors, wherein, they thanked the Sun, the nature, birds, plants, etc. The feeling of gratitude is the ultimate bliss. Which is actually a habit that can be developed. Like any other habits, this needs to be developed by conscious practice. Gratitude has such great potential that it can help you manifest any damn thing in life. And it has the strength to tremendously transform your Life.

7. Habit of Acceptance:

8. Distancing yourself from social media:

I know it feels strange, but trust me, this will change you completely from inside. I had quit using social media for 8 years. And this is what happened, my mind was awestruck on what to focus on, unable to understand what to do in the beginning stages.

Slowly my mind developed the habit of reading books, I started getting time to observe how mind and body works, got active in meditation. Life just transformed from being stuck in social media on what other people are doing to how my mind and body functions. It is worth a try. You will actually understand who your true friends are.

9. Practice compassion even with the small objects you hold:

A relaxed mind and body does not need force to do things. With this understanding, we can start to loosen up and even with the touch and hold, be compassionate. Even when holding a cup of tea, let us try and feel the touch of the cup. Touch things around, as if you are just born and seeing things for the first time. This practice will help you sustain happiness and treat depression.

10. The law of Giving:
